Our History

South Coast Security commenced operations in 1980 as a family business owned and run by Sue and Nobby Clarke. In 1997, after many tiring years of establishing the business, Sue and Nobby retired, passing the family business on to their daughter Debbie Gibbs and her husband Geoff. Geoff and Debbie have worked tirelessly to progress the business to become the biggest supplier of security solutions in the Shoalhaven and at the same time securing some very big contracts and developments interstate.

Our Service

With 43 years of experience behind us, we proudly service the Shoalhaven area. No job is too big or too small. We are a family-owned company with around 20 rostered employees in full-time, part-time, and casual positions and two to five cars on the road at any given time. We are one of the only security companies remaining that provides a 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week security presence and response.

Geoff Gibbs 

Director

Geoff has spent over 35 years working in the Security Industry and has dedicated the past 26 years to building up the family business after leaving the Australian Defence Force, where he had worked for the previous 10 years. He has a wealth of experience in all facets of the industry, having worked in crowd control, close personal protection, guarding, patrols and cash-in-transit.

Debbie Gibbs 

Director

Debbie has worked in the security industry since 1993 after leaving the Australian Defence Force. Debbie has experience in all areas of the Security industry.

Damien Costain 

Operations Manager

Damien has a dedicated team of Guards willing to provide total customer satisfaction every time. Damien has been the Company Operations Manager since 2006 and has a wide range of managerial experience, originally from a retail management background, where customer focus was his number one priority. No job is too big or too small for Damien and our team. He has a wealth of experience in all areas of the security industry.

Gavin Costain

Planning Manager

Gavin has spent the last 4 years in the Security Industry. Born and bred into South Coast Security, Gavin was straight out of school and into the family business. Gav has a vast range of experience, having worked in Cash-In-Transit, Crowd Control, Guarding and Patrols, while also having experience as an ATM Technician.
